Dean and Jodi could still be considered newly-weds, having married in August 2014. Dean is originally from the Detroit area and previously worked in IT in the corporate world. But after meeting Jodi in 2012, and following his heart to Granville in 2013, he decided to make a major career change to Innkeeping. While Dean will handle the day-to-day running of the bed & breakfast and farm, Jodi will maintain her graphic design business in the village.

Both Dean and Jodi have owned “farmette” properties, keeping chickens, ducks, rabbits, horses, ponies, cats, dogs, hamsters, finches and koi. “We plan on continuing that Farm Experience at Orchard House with the sheep, goats, chickens, cats, dogs, pot belly pigs, and a llama. And we plan on expanding with more hands-on garden tending and veggie, fruit and flower picking.” Also anxious to be back “on the farm” are the couple's teen and preteen daughters.

That signature Farm Experience offers guests the opportunity to be involved in the daily operations of Orchard House as much, or as little, as they desire. None of the animals live inside the guest quarters - including the owners - so guests get privacy and relaxation.

Jodi moved to Granville in 2003 from downtown Columbus, and is very active in the community with service on the Board of Directors for the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Board of the Granville Arts Commission. “We want to continue those strong ties to local businesses and farms, to offer the Orchard House as an example for local sourcing and promotion.”
